We are now in Phase 2 of the NGEE Arctic project. Here we ask: how will warming and permafrost thaw will affect above- and belowground plant functional traits, and what are the consequences for Arctic ecosystem carbon, energy, water, and nutrient fluxes?
This work is being conducted across gradients of polygonal tundra in Barrow, AK, as well as in more southerly tundra sites near Nome, AK, on the Seward Peninsula. Check out my colleague, Verity Salmon's, website for even more details on our cool tundra science! |
